Spring Normal University Holds Its Third Graduation Ceremony

On December 22, 2024, Spring Normal University, under the Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government (NUG), held its third graduation ceremony.

The ceremony, which took place at the university’s main hall, was attended by Dr. Sai Khaing Myo Tun, Deputy Minister of Education, as well as university council members, department heads, and a proud group of graduating students.

Union Minister’s Opening Remarks

The ceremony began with the Union Minister of Education, Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, delivering the opening speech. Dr. Zaw Wai Soe expressed his satisfaction with the university’s efforts in providing interim education during Myanmar’s transitional period. He commended the university’s success in producing high-quality teachers, emphasizing that this achievement represents a significant contribution to the ongoing revolution and the future of the country’s education system.

Deputy Minister’s Introductory Remarks

Following the Union Minister’s address, Deputy Minister Dr. Sai Khaing Myo Tun gave an introductory speech. He highlighted the pivotal role the university continues to play in educational development amid Myanmar’s revolution, reinforcing the importance of trained educators in these challenging times.

Awarding of Provisional Certificates and Diplomas

The interim rector of the university awarded provisional certificates to 64 graduates of the Bachelor of Education Degree program and diplomas to 52 graduates of the Postgraduate Diploma in Teacher Education program. In total, 116 graduates were recognized for their academic achievements.

Words of Gratitude

A student representative and a faculty member from the Education Department expressed their heartfelt gratitude on behalf of both the graduates and the university, acknowledging the hard work and dedication that led to this momentous occasion.

History of Spring Normal University

Established on September 7, 2021, Spring Normal University was created by uniting Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) teachers from the University of Yangon, Sagaing University of Education, and the Federal University of Nationalities. The university has been instrumental in providing education during the revolutionary period, training and producing qualified teachers who are committed to the transformation of Myanmar’s educational landscape.
