Spring Normal University Holds Its Second Graduation Ceremony

On March 10, 2024, Spring Normal University, under the Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government (NUG), held its second graduation ceremony.

The event was attended by Dr. Sai Khaing Myo Tun, Deputy Minister of Education, the university’s chancellor, council members, department heads, and graduating students.

Deputy Minister’s Opening Remarks

Deputy Minister Dr. Sai Khaing Myo Tun delivered the opening speech, emphasizing the critical role of the university in producing human resources—teachers—who are essential for the interim education period in Myanmar. He highlighted the university’s significant contribution to the revolution and its mission to support educational reform.

Guest Professor’s Address

Guest Professor Dr. Thein Lwin encouraged the graduates to actively participate in the ongoing educational reforms and the revolution. He urged them to align with federal education standards and strive for the advancement of the education sector. And then, the university’s chancellor awarded provisional certificates to 30 graduating students.

A student representative and a member from the university council expressed their gratitude on behalf of the graduates and the university.

History of Spring Normal University

Spring Normal University was established on September 7, 2021, by bringing together Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) teachers from the Yangon University of Education, Sagaing University of Education, and the University for the Development of National Races.. The university has been at the forefront of interim education and educational reform efforts during this transitional period.
